We will continue testing and update this page if this determination changes. OIT has confirmed the problem exists at least in Remote Capable Classrooms, but does not seem to be affecting a large number of users on campus.
There have been several reports on Reddit, Apple's Developer Forums, and Apple's Support Communities about macOS Monterey and USB 3.0 hubs compatibility. Some users running macOS Monterey have reported issues using USB-C hubs and docks. Mac systems that are enrolled in Dedicated Desktop Support will be prevented from upgrading to macOS 12 Monterey as OIT works to resolve compatibility issues with standard applications and campus IT infrastructure.

OIT feels Apple has addressed the most common issues with the new operating system and therefore faculty, staff, and students should feel free to upgrade Apple devices to macOS 12 Monterey.
